Kaley Cuoco’s circle of friends has seemingly addressed Ashley Tisdale’s recent controversy involving a disbanded ‘toxic mom group’ as they highlighted the significance of a supportive community.
Ashley Tisdale, 40, known for her role in High School Musical, ignited considerable discussion online after sharing an essay titled “breaking up with my toxic mom group.” The actress had previously celebrated her connections with fellow mothers, including Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, and Meghan Trainor, after the birth of her first daughter, Jupiter, in 2021. However, she disclosed her feelings of exclusion and alienation in recent months, leading her to announce her departure from the group via a group message stating, “This is too high school for me and I don’t want to take part in it anymore.”
In response, members of Kaley Cuoco’s motherly network expressed their solidarity with a post emphasizing the value of camaraderie among women. “Mom groups are having a real moment on the interweb this week,” actress Ashley Aubra remarked while sharing photos with Kaley and their children. She acknowledged their support during challenging times, inviting others to celebrate their own ‘ride or die’ mom groups with hashtags like #lift each other and #womensupportingwomen.
Another member, Ali Manno, who gained recognition through The Bachelor and Bachelorette, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Love this group!” Meanwhile, Amy Davidson, from 8 Simple Rules, expressed gratitude towards her friends, emphasizing the shared journey of motherhood. Singer Willa Ford also added her affection for the group.
In her now-infamous article, Tisdale conveyed her sense of isolation during her postpartum period, without explicitly naming the individuals involved. Fans noted that her essay surfaced shortly after she unfollowed Hilary and Mandy on Instagram, intensifying speculation. This was further exacerbated when Hilary’s husband, Matthew Koma, publicly criticized Ashley, labeling her message as “self obsessed” and “tone deaf.”
Ashley Tisdale became a mother in 2021, welcoming daughter Jupiter with musician spouse Christopher French. The couple also shares a son, Emerson, who is now 16 months old. Tisdale had previously enjoyed a close-knit relationship with the Hollywood mom group initiated by Hilary, participating in various family activities and vacations over the years. Just over a year ago, she expressed her appreciation for this group, acknowledging their support during the tumultuous wildfires in Los Angeles.
However, she later felt excluded from a girls’ getaway in Ojai. Following that, Tisdale explained her decision to ‘break up’ with the group, stating she had started to notice her absence from certain invitations, which she found disheartening and reminiscent of her high school experiences. “It took me back to an unpleasant but familiar feeling I thought I’d left behind years ago,” she reflected, expressing uncertainty about her standing within the group.
Ashley clarified her intention in addressing this issue, stating, “I now know I’m far from the only mother who’s been brought to tears by members of a group that’s supposed to lift everyone up.”
