Katie Price has publicly expressed her concerns regarding her daughter Princess Andre’s forthcoming documentary on ITV2, addressing speculation about an alleged rift between them. In the latest episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, the 46-year-old mother clarified that her grievances are directed towards Princess’s management rather than Princess herself.
Describing Princess as her “best friend,” Price revealed her displeasure over her daughter’s decision to sign with the management team associated with her ex-husband, Peter Andre. She explained, “I was very, very, very upset that Princess signed with them when she was 16,” and referred to the management as viewing her as “trash.” Price further claimed that she was intentionally sidelined from the documentary, stating that she feels ‘not welcome’ and accusing ITV of rejecting her offer to participate in filming without charge.
An ITV2 spokesperson has countered these assertions, denying any intention to exclude Price from her daughter’s project.
Speculation about a separation between Price and Princess intensified in recent weeks, particularly after Price was absent from Princess’s 18th birthday celebrations. There were also claims alleging that Price had been prohibited from appearing in the docuseries.
On her podcast, Price sought to dispel these rumors, insisting, “There is absolutely no rift between me and Princess… We have never, ever had an argument or a disagreement.” She highlighted their close relationship, noting that they spend considerable time together despite Princess’s recent filming schedule.
Price elaborated on the dynamics of her past connection with Peter Andre, revealing that during their relationship, they shared the same management team, which controlled much of their public narrative. Following their separation, she claimed the management maintained a divide between her and Andre, reinforcing a ‘team Pete, team Kate’ mentality.
Reflecting on her motherhood, Price expressed feelings of exclusion, acknowledging her desire to be more involved in Princess’s growing career as an influencer. She lamented the restrictions placed on her participation in her daughter’s activities, stating, “It hurts my feelings… I want to be there to support you. I’m your mum, I’m proud of you.”
Princess’s documentary, titled The Princess Diaries, will focus on her life at home with Peter, his wife Emily, and her brother Junior. Price shared her disappointment over missing Princess’s birthday celebration, stating, “I didn’t want it rubbed in my face that I was not allowed to go.”
Additionally, she highlighted the emotional toll this situation takes on her, asserting that it jeopardizes her mental health. Price and her producer Glenn described their attempts to collaborate with the production company behind the documentary, Optimum, mentioning that they offered to provide free footage for inclusion, which was declined.
Ultimately, Price affirmed her intention to avoid watching or promoting the documentary, as she does not wish to witness a narrative that excludes her presence. “It is really wrong for her at her age to be put into this situation,” she remarked, indicating that she feels her daughter should not bear the burden of her parents’ ongoing tensions.
In the documentary, Princess has also reflected on her childhood, expressing a desire for a more positive upbringing and discussing the challenges she faced, including her mother’s public breakups. She noted, “I do wish, like, I could have had a more happier childhood… I had so many things on my plate at a young age.”
