Sky UK has unveiled new features for the upcoming Premier League season, including a Multiview channel designed for football enthusiasts who do not want to miss any action. The initiative, which will be accessible across all Sky TV platforms, the NOW streaming service, and the Sky Sports app, was announced during a press event, according to a report from Advanced Television.
This development may be familiar to German Sky subscribers, who will also enjoy a Multiview experience starting in the 2025/26 season, allowing them to watch multiple Bundesliga matches concurrently on Saturday afternoons.
The Multiview channel in the UK will display all live matches on a single screen, transitioning between different stadiums to showcase all goals and key moments, complete with dedicated commentary and halftime analyses. Each featured game occupies about two-thirds of the display, while the remaining third shows the other matches in smaller windows alongside their current scores.
Unlike the approach taken in Germany, where Sky Sports selects a primary match that dominates the screen, the UK format will allow for a more dynamic viewing experience, swiftly switching coverage between matches whenever a significant event occurs, such as a penalty or goal.
In addition to the Multiview feature, Sky plans to roll out various enhancements to Sky Glass and Sky Stream throughout the season to elevate the sports viewing experience. Upcoming updates include player reminders in the TV guide for live sports, dedicated team pages, and the ability for fans to add their favorite teams to a personalized playlist, allowing them to easily access upcoming matches and related content.
Furthermore, fans will have the option to catch up on matches they missed from the start or to re-watch the entire game after it concludes. These features will soon also be incorporated into Sky Q.
By the end of the year, all live events currently streamed via Sky Sports+ on the Sky Sports app for television will be integrated into the Sky OS platform on Sky Glass and Sky Stream. This integration aims to simplify the process of finding games while also introducing the option to add multiple live streams to personal playlists.
